The route of Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon 2024
Experience the breathtaking race of the 2024 Rome Half Marathon: a unique journey through history, art, and sport in the heart of the Eternal City. From the start at Circus Maximus to the unforgettable finish in front of the Colosseum, every kilometer is filled with emotion.
Start from Via del Circo Massimo, near the Roseto Comunale, with an initial downhill stretch. The route crosses Testaccio district and Via Ostiense, reaching the Basilica di San Paolo fuori le mura just before the 4th kilometer.
The return toward the city center passes by the Piramide Cestia and tackles the most challenging uphill section toward Porta Ardeatina (about 1,250 m in total). After a downhill segment on Viale delle Terme di Caracalla, the course runs alongside the Circo Massimo again, this time on Via dei Cerchi, around the 10th kilometer.
The second half continues along the Lungotevere, crosses Ponte Umberto, and enters the Prati district, reaching Ponte Regina Margherita (15th km). The route then winds through the heart of the historic center: Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, Via del Corso, Piazza Navona, and Piazza Venezia.
The final 1,000 meters run along Via dei Fori Imperiali, with a gentle climb on Via Cavour and a spectacular finish on Via degli Annibaldi, ending with a breathtaking view of the Colosseo.
