Start at the Circo Massimo
You’ll begin where chariot races once thrilled 250,000 spectators! Just a couple of kilometers in, you’ll pass the Piramide Cestia and Porta San Paolo, then head down Via Ostiense to the magnificent Basilica San Paolo Fuori le Mura.
The toughest climb
After a second glance at the Pyramid, get ready for the hardest section: a 1.2 km uphill stretch towards Porta Ardeatina, running alongside the ancient Mura Aureliane. Push through—it’s worth it! A downhill section brings you past the Terme di Caracalla and back to the Circo Massimo (10 km).
From the Tevere to the heart of Rome
The second half is pure magic: run along the Tevere River, cross iconic bridges like Umberto I and Regina Margherita, pass through Piazza Cavour and the Quartiere Prati, before diving into Rome’s historic center: Via del Corso and Piazza del Popolo, the famous steps of Piazza di Spagna, the baroque beauty of Piazza Navona, the Sacred Area of Largo di Torre Argentina and of course, Piazza Venezia with the Altare della Patria.
The grand finale
The last kilometers are unforgettable: down Via dei Fori Imperiali, one last uphill push on Via Cavour, and the finish line in Via degli Annibaldi, with the Colosseo right in front of you.
Get ready—every step is history. Rome will carry you all the way to the finish!
