Rome, 8 September 2026 – The 2026 course of the Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon by Brooks is taking shape. RomaOstia and RCS Sports & Events are working with the City of Rome’s Department for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion to design a route through the historic center.
The race is scheduled for October 18 at 8:00 AM. The main novelty is the starting line at Porta Ardeatina, along the Aurelian Walls — the first time a running event begins here. The start will be located near the arches of Via di Porta Ardeatina, between Viale delle Terme di Caracalla and Via Cristoforo Colombo.
The iconic finish on Via degli Annibaldi, with the breathtaking view of the Colosseum, is confirmed.
The official presentation will be held on October 7 at 11:00 AM in the Giulio Cesare Hall at Campidoglio.
While preparing to celebrate its third edition, the Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon by Brooks continues to collect major achievements. This year’s race is not only the edition that reached a sold out of 40,000 participants, more than three months in advance, but it will also be the one that obtains the World Athletics Elite Label, the recognition reserved for highly structured competitions with top‑level performance standards.
The climb through the label hierarchy mirrors the event’s rise among global competitions, confirming an organizational effort focused on growth and continuous improvement. “The city of Rome deserves events capable of offering participants a level of services that meets the expectations of a world‑class appointment,” says Race Director Laura Duchi. “For our Organizing Committee, this recognition represents another step forward and a push to set increasingly ambitious goals.”
Confirmed for Saturday, October 17 are the Gemelli – Longevity Run presented by Altograno, in collaboration with Policlinico A. Gemelli and researchers from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, and the Arcaplanet Dog Run, the non‑competitive walk/run open to dogs and their owners.
The event village will instead be hosted at Eataly Roma Ostiense (Piazzale 12 Ottobre 1492), open from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 October. Here, runners will be able to collect their race kit, check all details related to the race, and visit the many partner stands.
Fundraising continues through the Charity Program, with the last solidarity bibs still available from the official organizations participating in the initiative.
More than €67,000 have already been raised on the Rete del Dono platform, partner of the Rome Half Marathon, over a month before race day — combining the sporting gesture with a charitable one.
