Rome, October 11, 2025 – Rome, wait for us! That seems to be the rallying cry of the participants in the upcoming Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, October 19, as registrations officially close. A real wave of runners—full of enthusiasm and joy—is about to take over the Capital: 22,000 registered participants, including 9,600 women (44%). The previously announced percentage of international runners has been confirmed: three out of four (72%) will come from abroad. The most represented countries are France (3,610 runners), Spain (1,952), the United Kingdom (1,593), and Germany (1,068), but there are also participants coming from far away, such as 431 from the United States, 369 from Brazil, and 206 from Mexico. A strong presence also comes from Northern Europe, with Norway, Denmark, and Sweden.
The official half marathon of the Italian capital, organized by RomaOstia and RCS Sports & Events, combines the breathtaking backdrop of the City of the Great Beauty with a fast course that attracts both runners chasing a personal best and those seeking an unforgettable experience. More than half of the participants—53.4%—are under 34 years old, split between the 18–24 age group (12.4%) and the 25–34 group (41%). 21.36% are between 35 and 44, while 15.83% are aged 45 to 54.
The Course
The distance is the classic 21 kilometres and 97 metres: the Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon 2025 will, as last year, wind its way through the historic centre of the city. The race will start on Via del Circo Massimo – near the Roseto– and finish on Via degli Annibaldi, offering a breathtaking view of the Colosseo: a finish line sure to move every participant, worthy of a major international event in the Jubilee year, which will also be featured on the official race shirt, produced for the second consecutive year by adidas.

The first wave of runners will start at 8:30 a.m.
A one-of-a-kind course, allowing runners to race through scenic views and past some of Rome’s most iconic landmarks: Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, and Piazza Venezia with a view of the Fori Romani.

On Saturday, October 18, road closures are planned along the Longevity Run route, which will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. On Sunday, October 19, 2025, traffic will be closed along the entire race course starting at 7:30 a.m. From midnight on Saturday, October 18, Via San Gregorio, Via Celio Vibenna, and Via dei Fori Imperiali will be closed to traffic. Business Run for the Italian Entrepreneurs’ Half Marathon Championship
On Sunday, the half marathon will be enriched by the participation of many entrepreneurs running in the Business Run. The Rome Half Marathon will in fact host the Italian Entrepreneurs’ Half Marathon Championship, an event conceived by the President of the Rome Chamber of Commerce, Lorenzo Tagliavanti, and successfully tested during several editions of the RomaOstia Half Marathon.
The participating entrepreneurs, representing different economic sectors, will be included in a special ranking that will determine the title of Italian Champion among entrepreneurs, with separate classifications for men and women in the various categories.
Trofeo Roma conCorre per la legalità
The 4th edition of the Trofeo Roma conCorre per la legalità will be a “race within the race”, aiming to spread—through sport—a message about the civic and educational value of economic integrity, social solidarity, and environmental sustainability. The event will feature athletes from the Fiamme Gialle Sports Group, as well as national and international runners, and students from the Guardia di Finanza training institutes.
