Rome, October 18, 2025 – The countdown is almost over for the second edition of the Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon, set to take place tomorrow, October 19, with the first wave of runners starting at 8:30 a.m.! For Italy’s most popular half marathon, more than 22,000 runners from all over the world are expected at the start — almost half of them women, and three out of four from abroad. Rome will offer them all its beauty and hidden treasures, with a one-of-a-kind route through the heart of the city — both scenic and fast. It’s a major international event in the Jubilee year, which is also celebrated on the official race shirt, produced for the second consecutive year by adidas. Leading the race will be the new Fiat Grande Panda, serving as the official lead car.

But the running celebration that has taken over the Capital is already in full swing. The Race Village at Eataly Roma Ostiense, the headquarters of the event organized by RomaOstia and RCS Sports & Events, has been buzzing with color and energy since Thursday — welcoming runners, residents, and visitors alike. Over the course of these three days, 40,000 people have visited the Village. Today, the festivities continue with a wide range of open-to-all events, accessible to everyone — from runners to families and even to man’s best friends.

The festive Saturday of running kicked off with the Longevity Run, a non-competitive 5 km run & walk open to everyone, organized in collaboration with the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS. Two days dedicated to movement and cardiovascular prevention, featuring free check-ups to monitor key risk factors — with a special new feature this year.

Just under two hours later, starting from the Colosseum at 10 a.m., came plenty of smiles with the Dog Run Arcaplanet — a fun 2 km race with our four-legged friends, celebrating the joy of spending time with one’s pet while engaging in physical activity.

Closing today’s sporting events, from 3 p.m. at the Stadio Martellini, was the Baby Run, where the youngest runners tried their hand on a real athletics track. A clear sign that future runners are growing!

At the Race Village, great excitement surrounded four-time Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah, ambassador for Huawei, partner of the event, promoting the new Watch GT 6: “The beauty of running for me is feeling free. When I run, I can express myself, release stress. Life can be full of pressure, and it’s important to feel good with yourself, to feel light. Running gives me that feeling. People ask me how I achieved results in running that no one had ever reached, how I became a successful athlete. The secret has been not to seek success, but to seek to feel good with myself. Running in a city like Rome means connecting with a place that has an incredible tradition in history, culture, food, and beauty. We are lucky to do what we love and to run in places like this, in Italy, a country that makes you feel good.”
